On the road, Fall colours in South Carolina
Welcome to ColourRush. My name is Mallika Narayanan and I'm a freelance web designer working from a small studio in my home. "Colourrush" as a domain came to almost instantly as it is only too apt in capturing my ever present state of mind. I have aimed to unify through ColourRush, my strategy for design, some design essentials and my passions & interests.
Colour - It is the countless possibilities and combinations of the hexa codes (limited only by the human eye) to create something that maybe only you can see, let alone describe, giving one that unique perspective, that one can only experience through this simple science of reflection. Its like hope.
I am happy in that I am not alone in philosophically rhapsodising about this marvel.

While I do obsess about colours, the design, the positioning, etc and probably know the custom buttons on my creative suite better than I do the veins on my hands, I profess to only ever being an amateur in this. One of the redeeming features of going solo, is you can set time apart to do some learning and learning is what one needs, to catch up with the plethora of web solutions, technology and web standards mushrooming practically by the hour.
The line between being exclusively a web designer and a web programmer is getting finer and while I've always been proud of the fact that I’m more than anything, an artist, I increasingly find the need to know more than just the basics of programming. Thanks to sites like killerphp, this process has been easier and the rare breed of "web designers" can still survive.
